Two details stand out. First, the GPU floor is exceptionally low — the GTX 650 launched in 2012, and the Intel HD 630 integrated option means many office laptops qualify. Second, broadband internet is listed as a requirement, which fits an online-multiplayer-first racer.
The 1 GB install size is the smallest we have tracked for a 2026 multiplayer racer — expect fast downloads between beta rounds and at launch.
Why a Gamepad Is Recommended
The store page's only hardware note is explicit: "Gamepad highly recommended for optimal steering control." Airframe Ultra's movement model — momentum, drifts, aerial flips and mid-air attacks — leans on analog steering and triggers in a way a keyboard struggles to reproduce.
That does not mean keyboard is unsupported; the beta included keyboard players, and our controls guide covers the confirmed keyboard scheme. But if you are choosing hardware before launch, this is a controller-first game in the same way most combat racers are.
There is no recommended spec tier published yet, and no Steam Deck verification badge. The low minimum spec is a good sign for handheld play, but nothing is confirmed — we will update this page if Deck status is announced.
What This Means for Older PCs
If your machine is a 64-bit Windows 10 PC with 6+ GB of RAM and any dedicated GPU from the last decade — or Intel integrated HD 630 graphics — you clear the minimum. The binding requirement for an online racer is your connection, not your frame rate: broadband is part of the spec.
Storage is a non-issue at 1 GB. For laptops, the practical constraint is thermal: sustained online races will push even an old GPU harder than the spec sheet implies.
